Feeding Difficulties (Bottle/Breast to Solids)
We help infants and young children transition from breast or bottle feeding to solid foods by identifying and addressing oral-motor coordination issues, sensory challenges, or anatomical restrictions. Whether your child is struggling with latch, suck-swallow-breathe coordination, or delayed oral development, we provide step-by-step strategies to promote safe, efficient, and enjoyable feeding experiences.

Picky Eating / Food Aversions
For children with selective eating habits or food aversions, therapy focuses on gradually increasing their acceptance of a variety of foods. We use sensory integration techniques and play-based feeding strategies to help children feel safe and comfortable with new tastes, textures, and smells. Sessions may include food exploration, oral desensitization exercises, and positive mealtime routines. Our goal is to reduce mealtime stress and support a healthy, balanced diet.

Tongue-Ties (Pre- and Post-Release Therapy)
We offer specialized therapy for individuals with tongue-ties (ankyloglossia), both before and after a release procedure (frenectomy). Pre-release therapy prepares the tongue and surrounding muscles for optimal healing by improving range of motion and strengthening function. After the release, we provide structured exercises to maintain mobility, prevent reattachment, and retrain proper swallowing and tongue posture. Collaboration with other professionals (e.g., dentists, lactation consultants) ensures a complete and effective care plan.

Oral Habits (Thumb Sucking, Mouth Breathing, etc.)
Persistent oral habits such as thumb sucking, pacifier use, or open-mouth posture can negatively affect oral development. We identify the root causes of these habits and use habit elimination programs that include positive reinforcement, behavior modification, and orofacial myofunctional exercises. For mouth breathing, we also address airway function and guide a transition toward nasal breathing, supporting healthy growth and function.

Sleep-Disordered Breathing / Snoring
Children who snore or show signs of sleep-disordered breathing often have underlying orofacial issues that affect airway function. We assess breathing patterns, oral posture, and muscle tone to identify contributing factors. Therapy may involve myofunctional exercises that strengthen the airway, promote nasal breathing, and improve tongue position. In some cases, we refer to or collaborate with ENT specialists, sleep medicine professionals, or orthodontists for comprehensive care.

Orofacial growth and development
Orofacial growth and development refers to how the muscles, bones, and functions of the face and mouth develop throughout childhood. Proper development is essential for healthy breathing, chewing, speaking, and facial balance. When this development is disrupted—due to factors like mouth breathing, incorrect tongue posture, thumb sucking, or poor swallowing patterns—it can lead to structural concerns such as a narrow or high-arched palate, crowded teeth, or abnormal jaw alignment.

TMJ pain and tension
TMJ pain and tension involve discomfort or dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint—the hinge that connects your jaw to your skull. This condition can cause symptoms such as jaw pain, facial tension, headaches, ear discomfort, clicking or popping sounds when opening the mouth, and difficulty chewing or speaking. TMJ issues often stem from muscle imbalances, clenching or grinding (bruxism), poor posture, or structural misalignment of the jaw. Our therapy approach begins with a comprehensive

Speech distortions related to oral structure
Speech distortions related to oral structure occur when physical differences or dysfunctions in the mouth interfere with a child’s ability to produce sounds clearly. Common contributing factors include tongue-ties, high or narrow palates, weak oral muscles, or poor tongue and lip coordination. These issues can lead to lisps, unclear speech, mispronunciation of sounds (like "s," "r," or "l"), or overall poor intelligibility.
